The group GONVARRI, established in 1958, is the leading steel service center in Spain, with 16 facilities placed in Europe and South America. (11 Gonvarri plants + 4 Gonvauto plants in Europe and Mercosur + 3 plants with SOP 2009-2010)

Its activities range from the transformation and distribution of flat carbon steel products, mainly targeting the automotive industry, the auxiliar automotive industry, household appliance, racks, the construction industry and road security barriers.

With an annual volume of almost 3 Million MT of sales, owns facilities with longitudinal and transversal cutting lines, pockling lines, skinpass lines, HDG lines, EG lines, plasma cutting and plastic coating lines.Additionally, Gonvarri has 3 plants to produce steel wind towers in Galicia and Brazil.

The group has a workforce of 2,047 people and meets the main quality standards for production (ISO 9000; 2000), environment (ISO 14001) and automotive industry specifications (ISO TS 16949).

As for the wind industry, Gonvarri has the homologations requested by the major wind turbine manufacturers: ISO 9001, E.A.Q.F/94.

• Processing of carbon steel coils and steel strips (including special formats) by means of cold rolling and pickling lines, akinpass or finishing processes as galvanizing (HDG, EZ) and painting coating.
• Processing of profiles, tubes, plates and coils for different applications as safety barriers, industrial building applications, water conduction or warehouse storage products.

Processing of steel products for renewable energy applications:

• Wind towers manufacturing based on carbon steel plate
• Supporting steel based structures for solar energy applications (thermal and PV).
