Driving Innovation in the Steel Industry
In the context of the growing need to move towards a more sustainable industry, the steel sector is opening its doors to innovation with a unique call aimed at startups. The Steel Tech 2025 Startup Challenge serves as a strategic platform for tech entrepreneurs to contribute disruptive solutions to the decarbonization of steel.
Organized by SIDEREX – Cluster Association of the Steel Industry and the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC), the challenge is designed to connect entrepreneurial talent with industry leaders, foster synergies, and promote the growth of innovative proposals that have a positive environmental impact.
This year’s challenge focuses specifically on CO₂ capture and valorization in low-volume and low-concentration processes, one of the most complex barriers to the industry’s sustainability. The call is looking for alternative technological solutions that not only address this issue but are also scalable and easy to implement.
Selected startups will have the opportunity to present their developments to key players in the industry, gain access to new business opportunities, and establish critical connections across the entire steel value chain. As recognition, the winning startup will be awarded during the Steel Tech 2025 Gala Dinner, gaining prominent visibility among the sector’s main stakeholders.
